This laser cut wood kit is an HO scale model of a pair of wood-frame, rigid bolster, 44 inch wheelbase trucks produced by Harlan and Hollingsworth in 1865. According to freight car expert John H. White Jr, “wood frame trucks were the mainstay of American railroading during its first decades. The drawing of this truck was produced in 1865; but the design is far older.”

These trucks are ideal for use on the BTS Models HO scale USMRR freight cars. They may also be useful for On30 models.

The kit also includes draft gear for two link and pin couplers (pins and links not included). While the couplers are functional, they are intended primarily for display and not layout operation due to their small size.

Wheelsets are not included. Based on customer requests we redesigned the trucks to accept the narrowest Reboxx wheelsets. The part number for the wheelsets is Reboxx 33-1-0.950 . You can use wheelsets with wider axles, but you will have to trim the axle length to 0.950 inches.

The kit includes nylon bearing inserts for smooth operation.
